Familia Deicas, Atlantico Sur Albariño 2022

Familia Deicas winery was born in 2000 as a project for making quality terroir-driven wines with a minimal intervention philosophy. Under the eye of third-generation vigneron, Santiago Deicas, as winemaker; the portfolio is increasingly lo-fi in its approach preferring the use of clay amphorae and neutral oak barrels, with a preference for sustainable farming practices. Atlantico Sur Albariño 2022 is an awesome wine taken from vineyards hugging Uruguay's Atlantic coast. It has an intensely vibrant, fruity aroma that is packed with notes of citrus and peaches as well as showing some salty/mineral ocean character. The palate has impressive intensity and depth of flavour, the freshness perfectly balanced by the medium-body. Pure, long with fabulous fruit and a salty-fresh finish: the perfect wine to pair with shellfish.
